Visitation from North America is forecast to increase 2.0% in 2003 to 21.4 million overnight visitors who will spend an estimated $8.0 billion in the province.

Tourism-related businesses account for approximately 1in 9 businesses in British Columbia. (These businesses include Food & Beverage, Accommodations, Transportation, Attractions and Adventure Tourism.)

Over 90% of these firms employ fewer then 50 employees and 43% of firms employed only 1-4 workers.
